Planning of an Amalfi Coast Wedding

The wedding of Hannah and James took place in a beautiful old town, nestled high on a cliff, overlooking the dramatic views of the stunning Amalfi Coast.

The minute they saw the pictures of the venue, they knew it was the perfect place for them.

Myself and the bridal party arrived on location two days before the wedding. The appointment for the declaration of marriage was booked for the next morning and the hair trials and manicures were arranged for the afternoon. The couple had booked a beautiful, traditional villa with terraces for eating alfresco and incredible views. It was set away from the bustle of the town and gave them all a chance to relax and unwind. This was for themselves and their close family to stay in for the lead up to the wedding day and the families would continue their holiday here after the wedding, while the couple had arranged a mini moon in a different location.

A systematic way to selecting your BIG DAY Wedding Photographer

By Gardner T Hamilton For The Knot Wedding Directory

I really don't know how you guys do it !!

I have been a full time professional wedding photographer now for 31 years and from back in the day, when people came to the photographers studio to trudge through album after album in search for the perfect images for their day, until now when brides have to swim through literally thousands of Facebook posts swamping them with photographers and their packages offering this that and the next thing.  In truth I admire people who do their research and find the perfect fit for them.

The Importance of an Engagement Shoot

Engagement sessions are one of my favourite things to photograph. It’s a great opportunity to get to know my couples before their wedding and see how they interact with each other. A lot of people don’t feel comfortable being photographed. This gives them an idea of how I work and puts them at ease before the most important day of their lives!

Reasons I think engagement shoots are great and a must have….

The more time you spend with your photographer the more comfortable you’ll be in front of the lens. A relaxed and happy couple make for much nicer natural images of the two of you. Remember, your photographer will be with you for HOURS on your wedding day capturing all those intimate moments and preserving one of the most emotional days of your life. Not only does this give me the opportunity to get to know you but you also get to know me!

 Ladies̷…

A Truro Cathedral Wedding

By Jon O'Connell Photography Edward and Jessica’s Truro Cathedral Wedding Edward and Jessica were married in early August 2016 and I had been asked to be their wedding photographer Cornwall. After looking at my previous wedding day photography, Edward and Jessica had decided they liked my documentary style and ability to capture the emotions and essence of a wedding day in a natural and unposed way.  They had stipulated many times that they only wanted minimal posing and mainly for the family formals.  The rest of the day, my aim was to capture everyone having fun and hopefully a few tears of joy. Edward and Jessica’s wedding took place at Truro Cathedral which is an absolutely stunning place for a Cornwall wedding photographer to document. The sun was shining as I headed to the bride and her maids for the preperations.  They had a beautiful house with tall ceilings and big windows allowing for plenty of opportunities for pictures…
