I’m Susannah, a Hampshire-based independent celebrant. I create and conduct weddings, vow renewals, commitment ceremonies, as well as baby and child-naming ceremonies (and more) across Hampshire and the New Forest, Berkshire, Surrey and beyond.
Being an independent celebrant means I can create and officiate the ceremony you want, without restrictions of faith, spirituality, inclusivity, ceremony location or wording. This means that, unlike a Humanist celebrant, I can include hymns, prayers or other spiritual elements, if wished. This means that there is more freedom for me to offer you a wider choice of what you can include and therefore create the ceremony that is most meaningful to you. I can also conduct your ceremony wherever you would like it; in a field, in a forest, on a mountain, on a beach, on a boat – the sky is the limit! I can incorporate meaningful rituals into your ceremony, such as handfasting, sand or water blending, ring warming, or oathing stones.
All my ceremonies are completely bespoke, written from scratch; I don’t use templates or set scripts. People can choose to go down a more traditional route, they can include elements of a particular tradition or you can opt for a completely unconventional ceremony. Your ceremony, your way.
