St Ives Harbour Hotel Wedding by Jon O’Connell Photography

The wedding of Tom and Karen who were married at the St Ives Harbour Hotel was blessed with some beautiful weather. Neither Tom or Karen were from the area but St Ives held some special reasons or memories for them to make the decision to get married here.

Both staying at the lovely Harbour Hotel, I was able to move between the preperations of both the bride and groom, documenting each story leading up to the wedding. Tom seemed very relaxed with his brother and best man all getting ready before heading down to the bar for a drink and to meet their guests.

Karen was busy getting ready with her bridesmaid and a few close friends, also looking quite relaxed and all enjoying themselves. I took pictures of some of the details that Karen had scattered around as well as the shoes and her beatiful wedding dress which I hung in a recessed window space so as to also encompass the beautiful sea and coastline in the background.

Exciting ways to announce you are going to get married!

By Christine O'Malley Independent Celebrant   You've decided to get married - so how do you let the world know ? The classic way is to put an announcement into the paper but just in case people miss it take a photo and send it out on social media. Wear  it !  Have matching tee shirts made and wear them on a night out with friends.  That should get the conversation going. Go high tech and make a video.  There are lots of sites where you can create a video for free. Making the video can be great fun - choose some of your favourite places and songs and get creative. When you are done - publish on social media. Send a card.  Again there are a number of sites where you can  create a postcard to send to anywhere.  Useful if your family and friends are scattered across the world. Or go all out and have an aeroplane  banner ! Which ever way you choose the announcement is just the beginning of a whole new chapter.  Congrat…

Edward and Jessica’s wedding took place at Truro Cathedral which is an absolutely stunning place for a Cornwall wedding photographer to document. The sun was shining as I headed to the bride and her maids for the preperations.  They had a beautiful house with tall ceilings and big windows allowing for plenty of opportunities for pictures…

January 8, 2018

So we mentioned that we like a good theme. That doesn’t mean tacky and gaudy like it sounds.

It could be simple, like a colour scheme or a  subtle reference (I had rainbow pastel colours with Harry Potter table names 😁). You could choose to have a more obvious, but still classy theme - Disney has been a popular request for us, from Beauty and the Beast to Up!

So you know what you want, but are you having a little trouble visualising it or bringing it to life?

That’s where we come in! One of the reasons we like to offer a bespoke service is because we really love to get creative. We love your classic traditional weddings and creating a bit of grandeur but we also love quirky and different 😁
